Mechanical and Electrical Works, Food Factory, Glasgow

On September 30th, 2013, posted in: Latest News, Recent Airconditioning Projects by nick

ICE have just completed the M&E works to a newly built Bowl Wash Area and Container Store  at a food factory in Glasgow. ICE supplied and installed an air conditioning system, heat recovery ventilation system, supply & extraction system for moisture removal, fork lift charging canopy, mains electrical works along with lighting and emergency lighting to all of the newly built areas.

Temperature control was provided by an air conditioning system comprising of of a ducted air handling unit (AHU), inverter driven condensing unit, associated supply and return ductwork, refrigeration pipework, Isogenopac  insulation, grilles and volume control dampers.

The fresh air ventilation requirements of the personnel working within the area were served by a heat recovery ventilation system, associated supply and return ductwork, insulation and grilles.

The moisture reduction system consisted of a supply AHU of double skinned penta post construction, bag filter to F7 grade, 45kw thyristor controlled heater, a direct driven extract fan, associated supply and return ductwork, insulation, grilles and volume control dampers.

All of the above were controlled and fed from a designated control panel designed by ICE,  installed in the service area allowing complete control of all temperatures, fan speeds and maintenance indicators.

This project was completed in around 2 months to the high specification that the food industry expects.
