Warehouse Air Conditioning Project, Manchester

On November 23rd, 2017, posted in: Latest News, Recent Airconditioning Projects by nick

ICE Ltd have completed a Warehouse Air Conditioning Project at a Pharmaceutical Warehouse in Manchester.

As part of an expansion project our client had taken on additional premises, which contained two warehouse spaces to store pharmaceutical products with the specified temperatures of 15C and 25C.

The work comprised of the supply, installation and commissioning of six separate 25kw AHU’s, each matched to appropriate air cooled DX condensing units.

Pipework and interconnecting wiring is ran between the AHU’s and condensing units at high level, supported on designated cable tray, fixed to the building structure.

To distribute the air we selected and installed fabric ductwork from each AHU in a specified RAL colour to match our clients scheme.

The fabric ducts are made from flame retardant polyester material and deliver air to the space via specially sized fabric nozzles allowing draft free air conditioning of the warehouse

Due to the high apex roof of the warehouse, to force air down in heating mode we installed several de stratification fans. The fan were linked to a controller and sensor to operate when the temperature increased above a specified set point so the fan only ran when required.

Control of the systems is via a touch screen controller to allow users to adjust the set point.

This project was completed on time and to a high standard.

The Warehouse Air Conditioning was installed along side the installation of a Heat Recovery VRF system which ICE supplied and installed. The system consisted of a single, air cooled condensing unit, installed on an Flexi Feet supports at the side of the building. This was connected to 9 wall mounted indoor fan coil units, each with its own branch controller box to allow simultaneous heating or cooling.
